Secret Island – Porto Rafti Athens
This little island in the distance is a place that intrigues me with its perfect triangular shape, inspires me to no end and calms me as well, so I guess I could call it some kind of spiritual refuge against the unquietness of the world around.
I don’t even need to be there for it to have this effect on me, it’s enough for me to bring its image in my mind. But I admit, it’s much better to be there.
These are the rocks where I like to sit, watch the sea and think, or just leave my mind wander without any goal. And I like it so much more in the winter because it’s deserted and I have the impression that it’s only mine.
This is a 2 minutes long exposure and I’ve tried so hard not to move here. I had to think that I’m sleeping to manage it, and you can see here my best performance in standing still for 2 minutes, among five or six other previous versions, all very artistically blurred (apparently I hadn’t fallen asleep yet).
I’m not exactly a selfie person, I much more prefer to be behind the camera, but this was a LOT of fun and I’m already thinking of doing it again. This time I might swim to the island and do the opposite view.
Yes, I said swim, you heard me!.
